I have traveled the world, and the Salish Sea is truly one of the most extraordinary areas in the world in terms of cultural and species diversity, and it's sheer natural beauty. It is now making an ecological comeback which needs to be supported and enjoyed.
We live on Saanich Inlet. The Inlet has been designated a Hope Spot. Hope Spots are Identified as Vital Ecosystems within the Earth's Ocean Systems. The Inlet is an extension of the Salish Sea. Both need protection from development. Don't let LNG into our world heritage site.
The Salish Sea is a benevolent and beneficial inland water body of unsurpassed beauty. The ecology of this wonderful place is slowly being shattered. Help us put a stop to this fracturing by declaring this area a World Heritage Site.
As i look out on the Salish Sea and tankers and ocean traffic, I appreciate the efforts to preserve what we love, and to join with First Nations in support of protecting their respectful dependence on the sea.
The Salish Sea is already compromised and the southern orca pods are dangerously low but this sea is pristine in comparison to what could be in wait through our lack of care for this region. A jewel that urgently needs our protection.

The Salish Sea is truly unique globally. It is such splendid beauty of landscape above and below the water, such richness of biodiversity and natural and cultural resources. It is truly world heritage by every definition of the concept. You should do everything you can to make it earn the official status of a Unesco World Heritage Site.

As lifelong boaters, we have found the beauty and diversity of the Salish Sea beyond measure in its rich diversity. It is critical that it become a World Heritage Site in order to protect our natural, historical and culture heritage for generations to come.
