Members of Congress; On September 17th, 2009 Principal Frank Lay and athletic director Robert Freeman of Pace High School of Santa Rosa County School District Florida faced charges for saying a prayer before a meal at a luncheon on January 29th in the school's field house honoring several adults. These charges are not only outrageous but a violation of fundamental liberties of all Americans. Freedom of religion and freedom of speech were established by the founding fathers of America and prayer has always been a part of that heritage. This petition is written with the hope that you will stand behind the liberties of this country; that the charges against the employees of Pace High School will be dropped. "What a sad state of affairs, when on the day we celebrate the oldest and most enduring Constitution in the world, that honorable public servants are tried as criminals for praying over a meal."
