Save Brampton Grange (USAAF 1st Air Division HQ)
The Brampton Grange in Brampton, Cambridgeshire is a historic building that once was vital to the bombing of Germany. The 8th AF, 1st Air Division were based here. It needs to be saved and listed for future generations. The Brampton Grange closed in 2007-08 after many years of use as a much loved hotel, bar and restaurant. It has great historic value to not only the community but also to American's as it once was the Eighth Air Force 1st Air Division Headquarters in WW2. It now stand empty, the developers have removed one wing of it and left it open to the weather for the past 4 years. Please sign to raise awareness that the Grange needs to be saved. For more information and photo's please see https://www.facebook.com/SaveTheBramptonGrange English Heritage and Huntington District Council Conservation are aware the the building has historic value, but it requires a listing application to be submitted to English Heritage. I am submitting an application this week but would like to be able to show the council and English Heritage that people feel strong enough about the history of the Grange to sign a petition. Thank you!
