Save Lehman HS logo
We, the undersigned, members of the Herbert H. Lehman High School community, do hereby state we wish to have the name of the school, it’s colors, logo and mascot to remain the same. The blue and orange colors have represented Herbert H. Lehman’s community and its pride has been identified with the lion since the opening of our coumminity school in 1971. We feel these colors refelect the long and sorted tradition of academic and athletic excellence since our first graduating class 1974, to which the school, it’s staff and it’s students are all heirs. Additionally, we feel that this name and these colors represent a promise to ourselves and to the community for a continuance of our striving for improvement and excellence. While Lehman has been in Renewal status for three years, now entering its fourth and last year, it has made great strides bearing the proud colors of orange and blue under the lion mascot. We feel that changing these colors would not only undermine the hurdles we have overcome, but also the achievements we have made as a community. Changing the Lehman colors and logo will not only injure our pride, but will represent a vote of no cofidence by our administration in our ability to change and grow. We understand the changing of the name must be put to a vote as per the Chancellor’s Regulations A/860s. We, the undersigned, intend to preserve our colors and pride.
