We believe that Leighton Buzzard should retain a permanent police presence, with warranted Police Officers (not just PCSOs) starting and ending their shifts in the town, and with a manned counter during normal working hours.
Furthermore, we believe that the changes implemented in October 2012 (with Police Officers starting and ending shifts in Luton) have had a detrimental impact on the town.
Crime figures for April to June 2012 have shown that crime in Leighton-Linslade has risen 15.2% compared to April to June 2012.
This petition is supported by individual Leighton-Linslade Town Councillors from all political parties. This petition will be presented to Bedfordshire's Police and Crime Commissioner Olly Martins.
