Our dispatch center is the lifeline of campus. Dispatchers work around the clock to ensure the safety of all campus community members to include the police officers who patrol the streets. Forsaking the collective institutional knowledge that is possessed by our current dispatchers is simply a mistake administration cannot make. Investment in campus' already established Communication Emergency Response Center (CERC) is a worthwhile endeavor.

I agree that knowledge of campus building nomenclature, geography, and normal activities is a valuable resource in ensuring safety of the UO.
It would be a massive blunder to allow CERC to discontinue the service they provide.

CERC is the nerve center of the UO, providing a deeper service than just a voice on the other end of the phone or radio.
