Hello Residents of Ashville Park! Please, sign this petition to save our neighborhood geese. Apparently, the HOA has made a ruling to hire someone to remove the geese on Monday July 17 unless we can find a home for them before then. There has been no communication to the neighborhood about this except for a letter sent to one person. Please, sign to have your voice heard. Tell the HOA to reverse their decision and let the geese stay!

Our entire family of 5 is heartbroken over the possibility of losing these geese! The daddy goose was born here and is a descendent of the original two that were here waaaaay before any of us and any of our covenants!
I just read a similar story last week. There was a community in Va Bch that was caught "off guard" about their goose population. One day men showed up and rounded up the geese, took them to a meat packing plant, and they were "euthanized." I hope your HOA doesn't win this one.
So many things wrong with this including a minority speaking for the vast majority, HOA in charge of mother nature, and oh by the way I'm not paying for their removal (note the hiring of someone).
The geese have been a part of our neighborhood for years, so much so that they are like the mascots of Ashville Park. We would like to see them stay.
I think it is absolutely ridiculous that it has come to this with regards to the geese. A few angry people should not get to speak for our entire community. This is a home ownerS association.... as in plural.... and as such it at least should be held to a recorded vote on what should happen with the geese. There is no reason that this should happen so abruptly with out discussion. We are a community not a dictatorship.
They deserve to stay there
Please do not remove the geese, they add so much to the neighborhood.

Keep the geese. Their descendants were here before the homes. The HOA (4 voting mbrs) are making decisions that are contrary to the large majority of residents. This needs to be stopped. The residents do not want this and are tired of decisions being made contrary to their input. The Chinese geese add value to the community. I would hope that the residents can share the hundreds of acres and several lakes with 6 geese. We must care and demonstrate compassion for animals that don't have a voice in the process.
