We are petitioning the City Of Greater Geelong Planning department to recognise our nursery as a nursery. There have been misinterpretation by individuals suggesting we are a retail store which is not permitted in our zoned area. We are NOT a shop who sells plants, we’re a plant nursery who have been supplying plants to businesses and residential spaces for over four years. Clients include The Geelong Football Club, Wyndham Council, landscape businesses, home wares stores, magazine shoots including Adore magazine and Inside Out with Greenhouse Interiors. We are the specialist supplier of air purifying plants and are on a national board, Interior Plantscaping Association as Treasurer.
Please suppot our small business as we go up against individuals and an organisation who doesnt see the benefit our business brings those who utilise it.
I am honestly overwhelmed by the support you have shown for the nursery and I never thought we would see this many people standing with us. If you happen to know anyone else who might be willing to add their name as we approach five hundred signatures, please send them our way. This energy belongs to you and it is the only reason we are still fighting.

I see no misinterpretation here. This space is very clearly a nursery. Small business who are contributing to the health and happiness of the local area should be supported by council as a priority.

I have had associations with Katie’s plant business since 2015 and was thrilled when I heard she opened her nursery. I have recently bought some beautiful plants from her nursery which was accompanied by great advice on how to care for the beautiful specimens, I wouldn’t shop at a retail store for plants, Olive green is definitely a nursery!

We have purchased plants for our business and home from this nursery and have been provided some really helpful advice. We also borrowed some cracking plants for a photo shoot at our clinic.

My kids and I love visiting Olive Green nursery for indoor plants. Without this little gem we are forced to travel further into Wallington or out to Torquay. The nursery and cafe has transformed the rundown station that they have taken over and we would be so sad to see it go.

Katie and Olive Green supplied plants for our outdoor area in a recent sales campaign. At no time did I feel like we were engaging a retail store as the overall effect would have been very different had Olive Green been a High St retailer. Olive Green provided plant specific recommendations and care instructions for the plants provided to us.

I support the growth development of small business such as Olive Green and as such would be extremely disappointed to see council make it hard for them to trade. We should be supporting these small businesses not making it hard for them to operate.

Come on GCC Planning... don’t stop one of the best things to happen in ocean grove for ages! Developing that site with the nursery and the next door cafe is brilliant!
