We have a beautiful large fun tree across the road - it’s been there for ever say long time residents.
This tree is a habitat for a magpie family , one of the fledglings “Chookie “ we helped raise fir about 4 weeks till he found his feet or feathers so to speak .
He has since returned to his family and we have joy in watching them roost in our beloved tree .
There is also a cluster of butcher birds and their offspring who delight us with their morning warblings - also flocks of lorikeets who drink from a small well that fills up in a hollow after rain - nature’s water cooler
This is the only significant tree in our street !
It s shade and aesthetic value so important
We’re happy to compromise with some branch lopping but please help us to preserve this majestic tree .
We suggested to Pier Park Caravan Park to refrain from 2 sights that the tree provides shade for in case of a branch drop - they wouldn’t hear of it - lose too much money
Let’s not turn our suburbs into a concrete jungle and preserve alive this living breathing majestic Tree -home to its many inhabitants
