Stevenson Coffee House has been a thriving hub of the UCSC community for over 40 years. Unfortunately, administration has made the decision to close the coffee house for good. On behalf of employees of the coffee house, and the greater Stevenson community, we urge you to sign our petition to keep this community space, academic setting, and affordable eatery alive.

As the oldest coffee shop on campus, Stevenson Coffee House was one of the first places in Santa Cruz County to have an espresso machine. It is a place where students build relationships with one another, as well as faculty members. The coffee shop is a unique place that:

• supports local businesses (The Bagelry, Kerri’s Cookies, Santa Cruz Coffee Roasters, Pacific Espresso, Sushi Cruz, Aldo’s, etc.)
• makes all of our food in house while still keeping our prices low and affordable
• offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options
• allows a space for professors and TA’s to hold office hours and other academic meetings
• is an open space for student-led events (open mic night, trivia night, etc.)
• offers late-night hours

Stevenson Coffee House holds a special place in the hearts of many, and it would be a great loss to see it close. Please sign our petition and feel free to include a few words about what Stevenson Coffee House means to you.
