Support the Aircraft Accident Forensics Lab at ERAU
The Embry-Riddle Research Park is set to be built at the corner of Aviation Center Parkway and Clyde Morris Boulevard in Daytona Beach. Currently, the Aircraft Accident Forensics Lab, or Crash Lab, is located on that same site. At this time, there are no plans to keep the Crash Lab site as a part of the research park. Without a suitable alternate location, the accidents will have to go into storage, unavailable to be used for class exercises. This will drastically reduce the resources available to professors teaching accident investigation courses. The Crash Lab is used for undergraduate courses in the Aerospace and Occupational Safety, Meteorology and Aeronautical Science Programs. Graduate courses in the MS Aeronautics Program also utilize the Crash Lab. The Crash Lab is also used for CASE Courses in accident investigation for industry professionals.
Sign this petition to show your support for the Crash Lab and tell the administration of ERAU how important a resource the Crash Lab is to the College of Aviation, the university and the safety and accident investigation industry. We want to support the research park, as it is a great investment in the university, but we need a secondary location that the crash lab could be moved to.
