We the undersigned believe the Curtain Theatre adds greatly to the artistic life of our community in Mill Valley as well as the Greater Bay Area. It has come to our attention that some residents near Old Mill Park are seeking new limits on events using its amphitheatre. The limitations proposed would end the Curtain Theatre’s ability to continue its performances in the park, which are critically acclaimed and have provided free entertainment for the community for 19 years. We believe the Curtain Theatre should continue to have access to the Old Mill Park stage on the same basis as it does now, including rehearsals during the summer leading to nine performances over four weeks from mid-August through mid-September. Old Mill Park was created for the benefit of all residents. The preferences of some people who live near it should not outweigh the interests of the larger community. January 2019.
