Easter Sunday we received a letter stating that our picket fence was encroaching on the view of 237 and would need to be torn down by December 2012 or the town will do it for us.
Just a fence, you say?
Just a fence built by my father's own hands 30 years ago. A fence maintained and painted by family and neighbors over the years. A fence that adds charm to our home. A fence and a home that is a labor of love for all of us.
The towns reasoning seems baseless. And, the FACT is: We haven't had an accident in 15 years, and the majority of accidents involved alcohol and on the warboys side). So, why now?
It is morally inconceivable to me that one person can walk into a place you love and labor for daily and take it away. If it must come down, it will come down. But, I didn't want to give up without a fight.
I will be speaking to the zoning board and the town based on my findings.
I ask that you simply sign this petition, on behalf of my family, that you believe the fence should remain intact.
In appreciation for taking time to sign this, each name will be collected and a name will be chosen at random. The winner will receive a photography session with me in appreciation of your support.
In the end, if you wont fight for the things you love, what will you fight for?
THANK YOU-
Grillo family
We are approaching 250 signatures which serves as the minimum threshold required to trigger a formal review by the zoning board. Please direct this petition to three local residents today so we can secure the documentation needed for my scheduled hearing.

The fence is beautiful and part of the neighborhood. Shame on the town for trying to tear down a family memory.

The town has better things to do than harass people about a fence that has been there forever. Typical government overreach.

This makes me so mad. 30 years and now it is a problem? Leave them alone.

TOTAL NONSENSE. The fence isnt hurting anyone. Maybe fix the potholes instead of picking on the Grillo family.

Ridiculous. If it has been fine for 30 years then leave it be.
