Save Historical Burleson, Texas
There are several structures in Old Town Burleson that have significant history. Burleson is in the process of some major revitalization and in the process these structures are scheduled to be moved or demolished .
We need your support to present to City planners to stop the following
Moving restored trolley cars out of Old Town in order to have more room for a community plaza
Demolishing of The Haas House (formerly JJ Oyster Bar) to make a parking lot
Demolishing the BHS original gym
Why?
The trolley cars are part of the school tours that were started years ago and provide BHS students the opportunity to visit the cars, museum, city hall, library, and one of our community parks for lunch.
The Haas House was built in 1910 and the structure attached to the house was home to the first City Hall and Fire Department This house could be used for a museum as well as community its meeting hall for various civic organizations to meet
The BHS gym could be restored and make a unique facility for community theater group and art gallery
