This is the traffic on Rte 20 in front of Treehouse Charlton that is on 14 acres of property and has 70,000 sq ft of buildings and 500 parking spots. They had 1.1 million check-ins in 2019 alone, and even with this, they cannot handle the crowds. In spite of relentless effort and constant reinvestment to make it the simple, relaxed environment we have described, we continue to fail in the face of our ever-growing customer base. Tree House Cape Cod is part of a broad effort to remedy to this problem, relieving pressure on our main campus while bringing the Tree House experience closer to you. They are requesting an occupancy of 550 which requires 183 parking spots, for a location on 0.3 acres. This is a self-created problem by using their own parking lot for a beer garden to increase their occupancy. They now want to push that problem onto the neighborhood by creating a huge parking lot along Town Neck Rd from Gallo Rd to Coast Guard Rd. Tourists are already using Tupper Rd and 6A to bypass the highway to the bridge. With a 2-3 beer maximum and pouring from 11 am - 11 pm, this turnover adds up to another traffic issue for both town neck and the marina, and a disruption to the quiet life of Town Neckers. Note that people can pick up additional beer after their 2-3 beers consumption encouraging additional drinking in Town Neck. Town Neck is a neighborhood of closely packed houses on narrow roads, no sidewalks with people pushing strollers, kids riding bikes and in the streets. Treehouse had 15 accidents in front of their Charlton facility in one year. It just takes one incident.

We, the undersigned of Sandwich, MA, do not need or want this additional traffic, parking, and issues that go along with this. Treehouse needs to find another solution away from this neighborhood.
