Fight the closure of Llanederyn High School
We the undersigned wholly object to the proposed closure of Llanederyn High School. Whilst Gordon Brown spoke of the necessity for all children to benefit from good quality, community schools, our only non religious community high school is to be eliminated. Cardiff Council published a Statutory Notice of Closure on Llanederyn High School (LHS) on 24th September 2009, objections to be lodged by 24th November 2009. Closure of our excellent school would be a disastrous move for the future generations of Llanederyn, Pentwyn and Pontprennau. The core benefit that our local community high school brings to its families - readily accessible schooling, continuity of schooling and a positive relationship with local residents - is cited by the LEA, the Welsh Assembly Government and the current British government; yet Cardiff Council places no value on these ideals or on our childrenâ
