Save James Madison\'s Sigma Phi Epsilon Chapter
The Virginia Iota chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon at James Madison University is being threatened with dismissal by the national office. The decision to close the chapter was made without representation by the existing brothers and without input from the alumni. Recently the newly elected president, Mark Musser, received a letter from nationals informing him that representatives from nationals would be visiting campus to review the chapter. The \"review\" consisted of two representatives from nationals informing all brothers in attendance that the chapter was to be closed. The chapter was given no warning and was not provided with a forum to discuss the allegations or given an opportunity to defend the chapter and change their decision. We, the undersigned Sigma Phi Epsilon Virginia Iota (James Madison University) alumni and friends of the Sig Ep chapter would like the Virginia Iota chapter to remain open. We would like an opportunity to discuss, through an alumni board, with nationals what actually led to the elimination of Sig Ep at James Madison University, and what steps could be put in place to reverse the decision.
