Save The Creek Jumps
The Creek Jumps located in Lafayette of the trail by the Lafayette Community Center and are a special place for all ages of bikers and non-bikers. This is a spot to ride great jumps and hang out with friends anytime. With an average of about 10 kids and adults visiting the jumps daily the constant flow of people allow for people to make new friends from around the area. The Creek Jumps have been around for more than 15 years and the responsibility of keeping them working is passed on through generations. These jumps have been a place for kids to find the true wonders of biking and grow to love the sport. Many of the past builders and riders have gone on to have biking a large part of their life. One way to show that the creek jumps are extremely important to people in the area is that even though some kids tear them down or mess them up, they still get rebuilt. Through the 15 years of the creek jumps existence, the different groups of builders have put in countless hours of hard work into the jumps so that they and others can enjoy the jumps. This shows the love for the jumps that locals have. The Problem is that the city is now trying to tear them down for good because suddenly it is bad for the creek. These jumps do and have done no harm to the creek, and have only brought joy to countless local people So we need your help to save the creek jumps that mean so much to so many people in the area. The Problem is that the city is now trying to tear them down for good. They say that the jumps are disturbing the watershed, when in reality the watershed hasn\'t changed since the jumps were created. Also if you go down to these jumps you would see that the jumps are not close to the creek, with a good 5-10 feet of ground between the edge of the jumps and the creek. So even if the city does tear down the jumps, it would not change the watershed at all. So we need your help to save the creek jumps that mean so much to so many people in the area.
