To whom it may concern, As Drama and Performance students, we are explicitly and diametrically opposed to any attempt whatever to cut the creative writing modules (i.e. Arts Journalism and Playwriting) in our fourth and final year at Queen Margaret University. To do so is not only against our wishes, but also nonsensical; it cannot be anything but detrimental to the learning process to curtail an educational course only half way to its completion. It must be assumed by the module choices provided that the university is attempting to amalgamate the Theatre and Media courses. Theatre studies is not Media studies, nor should it ever be considered as such, for to do so is a great disservice to both. Furthermore, to make this decision without consultation is an abuse of our trust and confidence, and will ultimately prove inimical to the university’s reputation. We demand that the decision be reconsidered or else you risk the extreme dissatisfaction of the following people:
