Final supporters
We, the undersigned, petition the City of Kansas City, Missouri to use the acreage originally planned for the No-Kill Animal Shelter instead of the newly approved land that is currently occupied by the 35-year-old Swope Park Disc Golf Course. We request an explanation as to why the shelter is moving from the originally planned location, which will eliminate Kansas City’s oldest and most famous disc golf course.

With the large amount of undeveloped and usable land in the park why choose to eliminate a popular Disc Golf Course that brings in citizens from around the region and United States. Disc Golf is low maintenance and keeps the citizens engaged and active
As an animal lover I understand the need for the No-Kill Shelter. However it doesn't need to be at the expensive of an established Historic disc golf course that has added Value to the area. There is enough room at Swope Park to share.
As someone who travels to your fine city from another state to play tournaments at this course, please reconsider. Without Swope I will be less likely to travel, costing you significant tax revenue, and money spent at local businesses.
This is one of my favorite Disc Courses in KC. I don’t understand why a park is becoming a place for a business. There are many building not in use that could be updated and put in use instead of taking the limited natural park space we have.
The Swope Park Disc Golf course makes Kansas City a destination vacation spot for me twice a year. My memories include being awarded the 2003 Amateur World Championship after 27 grueling holes on the final day. Please save Swope Park Disc Golf.
Please don’t remove a piece of Kansas City history and disc golf history! Please find another location to execute your noble goal!

This course is where myself and my family discovered disc golf, and have made many memories and forged new relationships in a short amount of time. The course is an asset to the community, and its removal would leave a void in the park, and the community.
