Hi there everyone my name is Shelby Campbell. I am running for the 1L Class Representative and I would appreciate it if I could have your support. Before starting Detroit Mercy School of Law I was an automotive worker for 10 years. In the last 3 years I had been very active within my local union, and as most of you know unions are about fighting for the working people.

I was Co-Chair of my Education Committee for the past 2 years which was in charge of educating the membership on our rights under our International Contract, Local Contract, and our local Unions ByLaws. I created a Facebook group for my Supplemental Employees who are underrepresented to help educate them when no one else would. I even started a petition for them when they were forced to work 12 hours a day 7 days a week. In doing so I would be at my place of work for 10/12 hours a day trying to get enough signatures to put a stop to the hardships they were enduring.

As your class representative I will be an advocate for our class, and make sure to address everyones issues no matter what they are. One of the many reasons I want to be a lawyer is to make change and help stand up for the people who aren't always heard.
