Sacred Heart School has decided to change the Service Hour Policy for the 2013-2014 school year without consulting parents to see if they agree. Since this was enacted after registrations for the new school year took place, we would like to see this policy revoked and have the policy continue as it was: 25 hours for general service and 3 for the annual More Than an Auction. The new policy changes the number of hours to 16 for general service hours, 6 for the More than an Auction, and 6 for Development of the school. Where the old policy has a financial obligation of $6 per hour for uncompleted general service hours and $50 for More Than an Auction, the new policy assesses $10 for general service hours and $50 for both More Than an Auction and Development hours, creating a financial obligation increase of $450 per family.  We the undersigned will not be forced to do/pay for mandatory service hours for a paid position as the Development position at the school is a PAID position.  These hours should remain at the general service hour rate of $6 per hour and participation in development service hours will strictly be at the discretion of the parent volunteer.
