Preamble: We, the action sports enthusiasts of Golden, CO. and its surrounding communities of Jefferson County; petition the city to revamp/rebuild/reconstruct the Ulysses skateboard park located at 1205 Ulysses St. The park as it stands is extremely outdated and under cared for. As the action sports community as a whole increases, the number of new “skate parks” is rapidly increasing, forcing our surrounding community to travel out side of Golden. This is not only impacting our local economy it is effecting our community as a whole. Petition: ·To provide the Golden/Jefferson county community with a safe, legal, and progressive Skate Park to skate. ·Increase and encourage the active engagement of people in the sport of skateboarding, scooters and bikes, etc. ·Promote healthy and sustainable community through exercise using skateboards, scooters, freestyle bikes and inline skates (roller blades). ·This will also help and grow our local community. With the newly added light rail, Ulysses Skate Park can be come an easily assessable park for all ages. People want to know that there kids to have a safe place to go to do what they love.
