Hardcore Maggots would know that The Nine was set to play for Pulp back in 2004 but the show was canceled due to security concerns. That's ancient history now. Many big names in the international metal scene have since played shows in Manila including Korn, Arch Enemy, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and most recently, Cradle of Filth. Local concert organizers are well capable of handling such events.

As for the marketability of such an event, we are willing to wager that there are more than enough Filipino Maggots and metalheads to pack into any venue in the country. The continued success of anual local rock and metal festivals such as Rakista.com's Rakrakan Series and Pulp Magazine's Pulp summerslam is a testament to this.

These sentiments are nothing new to any self respecting metalhead. However, it is now the time for us to put our money where our mouths are. This petition aims to serve as a proof of the support and dedication that we, the Maggots can and will give to our favorite band from Iowa. This is our chance to be heard in the only manner we know how --- loud as fuck.
