Security of life and property have become of a source of great concern in Ogun State for residents. From ritual killings, armed robberies, public assassinations and cult clashes and killings, no one is safe. People are being killed, threatened, intimidated beaten and maimed daily. There is fear on the streets of Ogun State, particularly Ijebuland where cult clashes have taken the lives of 15 youth in just a month and Sagamu where people sleep with one eye open due to the activities of a few political party leaders.
The most recent is a young man gunned down on the street in broad day light in Idowa, Ijebu yesterday (1/7/2014)
We the undersigned call on security services, particularly the Nigerian Police Force to rise up to their duty and secure lives and property of people in Ogun State. We should be able to go about our business without fear. People should be able to sleep in their homes and walk the streets without fear of being killed. Stop the killings! Stop the violence! Enough is Enough!
