The Faculty is considering adding "Spanish for Lawyers" to the curriculum.
Did you know that the Latino/Hispanic population is the fastest growing minority group in the United States? This group is going to need legal professionals like you and I to assist them. In the spirit of being practice-ready, the Faculty is considering adding this course to our curriculum. A course like this will allow our students to read, write, and speak Spanish like a lawyer. More importantly, it will ensure that we are translating legal jargon properly, avoiding potential malpractice suits and remaining professional in all languages spoken.
This course will also open the door to new language skills courses. Imagine one day having courses like "Polish for Lawyers" or "Italian for Lawyers" and many more.

I have been hearing from so many of you about how vital these language skills are for our future careers. It is truly humbling to see such a strong consensus forming around the idea that we need better tools to serve our communities. Your passion is the only reason this conversation is currently happening with the faculty.

YES PLEASE. i need this for my career plans.
Finally. Its ridiculous that we dont have this option already given the demographic shift. Make it happen.
Good idea. Would love to see more languages added later too.
This would be so helpful. Most of us are gonna have spanish speaking clients anyway so we should actually know what were saying to them.
Absolutely needed. Law school should be about being prepared for real world clients and this is a major part of that.
