Spectrum restore Northwest stations
Carriage disputes are on the rise, set by dated laws that no one is willing to change. Charter Communications, owner of Spectrum, is in the middle of one with Northwest Broadcasting, based in the Michigan Capital Region. They own stations in seven states, including Fox 68 WSYT and my 43 WNYS in Syracuse, NY, and Fox 40 WICZ in Binghamton, NY. The two sides blame each other as is often the case. Whether or not you subscribe to Spectrum or watch anything on these stations, these rows can seem permanent. It's one reason why people seek other methods of watching TV. We are asking Charter and Northwest to return to the bargaining table and reach an agreement that satisfies both parties and gives customers the best price. Charter CEO Tom Rutledge and Northwest CEO Brian Brady both need to see this. Be a part of the solution. Retrans blackouts set a bad precedent for both stations and providers.
