The Residents' Association and Neighbourhood Watch are asking for your support to a petition to ensure that Ingress Park remains a 20mph zone and that the current excessive speeds on Ingress Park Avenue are reduced.
The developer, Crest Nicholson, originally wanted raised pedestrian crossovers and speed tables on the road in order to maintain safe speeds on the development. These proposals were rejected by Kent Highway Services (KHS) as being inappropriate for the Fastrack bus which would also be using the road.
Since 2005 there has been excessive speeding and dangerous driving on the development.
The road is due to be adopted shortly by KHS, at which time KHS will increase the current 20mph limit on the road to 30mph.
We are therefore petitioning for:
1) Ingress Park to remain a 20mph zone; and
2) Raised pedestrian crossovers and speed tables to reduce the current excessive speeds on Ingress Park Avenue.
Despite failed attempts to overturn the decision to increase the speed limit, KHS will be adopting the road in the next couple of months so time is not on our side. Please therefore support us by signing our petition, along with your friends and family, before someone is seriously injured or killed.
We will be presenting our petition and supporting documentation to the Head of KHS, with copies to Dr Howard Stoate MP and the Leader of Dartford Borough Council.
30mph is way too fast for such a small road with so many families living here. KHS need to wake up and see what is actually happening on the ground.

its a nightmare trying to cross the road with the kids. people fly round that corner like they are on a racetrack. something needs to be done before a child gets hit.

Ridiculous that they want to increase the limit. Stick with 20 and put the bumps in. Common sense really.
