Recently a drug rehab organization, named Alpine Recovery Lodge, has applied at Alpine City for a business license. If allowed they will be opening a home on the east side of Alpine in the middle of a residential area and will be housing 16 residents 24/7. We believe that this facility will result in lower home values and will infringe on our way of living by potentially placing our children at risk. We are extremely sympathetic to those who are struggling to overcome their addictions and this petition is in no way meant to suggest otherwise. A zoned residential area is not the place for a rehab facility.
