Action petitioned for: We, the undersigned citizens of Missouri, oppose the killing of our unborn children.
This petition is sponsored by Representative Mike Moon of the 157th District in an effort to raise awareness in the Missouri General Assembly as to the grievances against the innocent, unborn in Missouri. Here is a note from Representative Moon:
Since the US Supreme Court offered their opinion in Roe vs. Wade in 1973 to 2013, the number of abortions performed in the United States numbered 56,662,169. Annually, more than one million unborn children are killed as a result of abortion.In addition, women also suffer as a result of the procedure. Some are left unable to carry a baby to full-term. A myriad of additional complications may follow abortion, such as, chronic abdominal pain, infection, and even sterility.
Missouri law (RsMO 1.205) states that the general assembly recognizes that life begins at conception and that both the unborn child and the natural parents have a protectable interest in the life and health of the unborn child through every stage of development… unless an entity, such as the federal government, says otherwise.
The recent undercover videos exposing the alleged involvement of Planned Parenthood in the harvesting and sale of body parts of unborn children has raised the ire in some calling for the defunding of the organization. If we take a moment to ponder the bigger picture, we realize that this discussion would not be taking place if we did not allow the murder of our unborn children in the first place.
During the 2015 legislative session HB 1033 was filed. The bill’s intent was to stop abortion in Missouri. The bill was allowed no committee hearing.
Since the Planned Parenthood fiasco, interest in reviving the bill for filing in the 2016 session has been expressed. In order for the bill to be referred and heard in committee, the House leadership must have a reason to make that happen.
Presenting a petition signed by 1 million Missouri citizens is likely to get the attention of the general assembly. We have until the end of 2015 to get this done.

I have been spending so much time digging through those undercover videos and honestly it is just exhausting to watch the footage over and over but it helps to know people are actually looking at this now. My inbox is full of messages from folks who feel just as sick about the whole situation as I do and I am trying to reply to everyone even though it is taking longer than I expected.

I really never thought this would gain this much steam but here we are and it is honestly so surreal seeing all these people standing together. My inbox is completely overflowing right now and it makes me think about how much potential we actually have to get Representative Moon to push this even further.

We must be the voice for the unborn...until this barbarism is stopped we cannot call ourselves a civilized people...
If we can't protect the most basic liberty of life for our most innocent, how are we to preserve any liberties?
Abortion is murder of innocent babies by people who have no morals and are irresponsible. It NEEDS to be stopped.
I admire Rep Mike Moon for standing up for unborn babies. Missouri should stop abortion now.
Abortion isn't right. The people who want abortion need to think that are their parents glad they didn't abort them? Its their fault for intercourse. You can't have sex and no matter what refuse to have a child. They have to be prepared and them wanting an abortsion is not because they don't want a kid, it's because they just want sex. If you don't want the kid, give them to a child adoption center so someone who wants one can have one.
I had a still born at age 17. There is no way I'd ever be okay with abortion.

Please make abortion illegal and a crime. These babies deserve life, and should not be killed at any stage of the pregnancy process, since they are alive from conception. Thank you for working to stop abortion.
