1. Allow policy holders to use two different numbers from different service providers (most people have lost their devices while they inserted a different sim card because of better network coverage).
2. Track a cellphone using a IMEI number rather than my cellphone number. South African Police Services circulates the IMEI number not Cellphone number in the event of a stolen or lost device
3. Send policy documents to all clients within thirty days of taking a new policy, with a policy number covering a specific device and issue a policy number for that device.
4. Replace lost or stolen devices in twenty four hours, failure to do so the client should receive a courtesy phone until the insured cellphone is replaced.
5. Should the company fail to replace the device in fourteen days the excess fee should reduce to 10%.
6. Read and explain the insurance policy terms and conditions to every client so they understand.

I spent the entire morning reading through the stories people are posting and it is honestly infuriating how many of us have been burned by these insurance loopholes. I have been drafting a formal letter to the regulatory offices because someone actually needs to listen to how these IMEI tracking issues are making recovery impossible. It feels like shouting into the void sometimes but keep sending me your experiences because I am taking all of it with me to the next meeting.

I honestly did not think this would gain this much steam but here we are and it really feels like these insurance companies can no longer just hide behind their fine print. It is wild to see so many people dealing with the same nightmare of broken promises when they need their phones the most.

Wow! I really needed this cause I lost my contract phone while I was using different number with they didn't replace it even my brother they did the same and my dad last month
Please also let's not be forced into the insurance company that we don't aproove of like finrite

I fully agree that service providers should use IMEI No instead of cell phone no, we must also be given loan phones before phone replacement.
