COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR THE IGWEBUIKE FAMILY – HUMANITARIAN
AND COMPASSIONATE CONSIDERATIONS
This letter is a show of community support for the Igwebuike family. We have been
informed that there is a possibility of Norah and her family not being allowed to
stay in Canada permanently and that there is a possibility of them being removed
from Canada. We want to show Immigration Canada that removing Norah and her
family from Canada and separating them from the life they have built here would
be very difficult for them, their friends, their community, and especially for the
children, Chimkamso and Chizara. They have a bright future ahead of them should
they be able to stay here permanently with their family.
We request Immigration Canada not to put this family in a distressing situation
and we, further, want to persuade Immigration Canada to consider granting the
Igwebuike family a chance to be in Canada permanently, considering the plethora of
humanitarian and compassionate grounds.
Norah first arrived in Canada in March 2016, and since then has been a
contributing part of the Canadian community. She was later joined by her husband
and they have birthed two beautiful daughters (Chimkamso and Chizara) who are
Canadian citizens by birth. Due to unforeseen circumstances, despite having
completed post-secondary education in Canada, Norah has been facing difficulties to
attain permanent residence in Canada. We are told that if this application were not
approved, Norah and family might be forced to leave Canada and leave behind all
that they have initiated to build in this country.
As a fellow-community member, we know Norah to be an immensely hardworking
individual. Since her first arrival to Canada, Norah has ensured that she became a
contributing part of our community as soon as possible. She has been working
diligently to ensure that she and her family are financially stable.
It goes without saying that, after dedicating close to seven years towards
establishing herself in the country, Canada has become the home for Norah and her
family. Norah’s recent establishments, associations, and accomplishments have
been here. We support aspirations of this family and request that they are allowed
to stay where they belong. Please let Norah and her family continue working
towards building their future in Canada, a place that they treat and call their home.
To be denied permanent residency and asked to leave our country would bring great
hardship and heartache to Norah and her family, especially during this time.
Removing them from Canada would cause a distressing situation for them. We do
not want to lose such compassionate and driven individuals; their full potential is
yet to be uncovered.Norah is a family-driven individual who cares deeply and loves her family
unconditionally. The pleas for the humanitarian and compassionate grounds
application rest greatly in the best interests of the children and the family.
Without a shred of doubt, we find Igwebuike family to be honest and respectful
individuals and know that they already treat Canada as their home. If removed,
due to the underemployment and unemployment situation in Nigeria, due to their
age and lack of recent experience in the country, it would cause Norah and her
family painstaking efforts to re-establish themselves in Nigeria, if that were even
possible. We know that the Igwebuike family would experience considerable
dislocation and it would be very difficult, if not impossible, for Norah to find gainful
employment if forced to return to Nigeria.
In their time spent here, the Igwebuike family have fallen in love with our country
and have become accustomed to our way of life here. They have become essential
members of the community. They make friends wherever they go and know the
importance of communal involvement. They are active on the lookout to contribute
more time towards community development. The prospects and potential of these
bright individuals would be limited if they are not allowed to remain in Canada
permanently.
Canada has provided them with a haven that they could never have imagined back
in Nigeria. Their absence would be significantly felt throughout the community. We
would be worse off, as a societal group, if they were forced to leave us. The
Igwebuike family treats us as their family and community. Please do not let us be
separated from one another.
The Igwebuike family is a prime example of what Canada stands for, a rich cultural
diversity. Removing them from Canada would be an unspeakable hardship for
them, their friends, and their community. They are valuable and contributing
members of society and community. We know that they will continue to give so
much more when they are permitted to stay in Canada permanently. We do not
want to lose exceptional individuals with the caliber and potential like them.
As a community, we support this application for permanent residency based on
humanitarian and compassionate grounds. Please allow the Igwebuike family to
stay in Canada. Every person undersigned here joins in this request.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
