Stop Maltby Academy School from preventing children wearing coat hoods outside in school grounds

Maltby Academy School have implemented a policy without informing parents and possibly governs around preventing children from wearing their coat hoods, in WINTER, outside in the school grounds. Reasons given to the children are; it conceals their identity, it’s anti social behaviour and also increases chances of intruders getting in to school.
We must make a stand against these over the top, damaging and frankly barbaric policies being able to be put in place and negatively impacting our children’s wellbeing.
I ask you to join and share this petition in support of getting Maltby Academy to ditch this policy and exercise dignity and care to our kids!

The stories coming in about students freezing outside are heartbreaking. I am currently drafting a formal letter of concern to the school administration.

My child has alot of ear ,nose, and throat infections, they can't wear hats either and when it's bitterly cold outside they need some form of weather protection for the outdoors .
Ridiculous. I'm all for school uniform and rules but this is way ott. If a kid is outside they need to be wearing a coat and hat or hood. This would and does happen in the 'real world'. Sorry MA but get a grip. Concentrate more on giving your pupils the best education possible and less on petty rules.
Maybe if there is a problem with intruders, the security needs to be seriously looked at as this is a massive safeguarding issue- lack of Childrens hoods are not going to help!
Ridiculous rules, My Godson goes there and comes home freezing most days, how can they concentrate on class after break with freezing ears and neck.
Ridiculous policy that clearly need reviewing. It's winter children are going to want to keep warm?, limiting the amount of absence due to coughs and colds.
They send people home because off it
the school is stupid were not allowed hoodies not allowed trainers the school is also rasist and girls are not allowed makeup or handbags its a load of bs they need to fix up, them not letting us wears things that make us feel comfortable or we will just keep getting sent out of lesson and doing things to wind them up

My son came home with a full head cold last week due to this daft rule, I understand the hoodie rule, but if it's bad weather the kids need their hoods up, rain, snow, freezing temps n wind, would love to know who decided on this stupid rule.
