Salmon netting on our river estuary and inland waters needs to stop and stop now. Please sign this petition to help us get this done. Also anglers on all rivers needs to come to terms with catch and release. This is a thing that most anglers won't have a problem with if you want you're children to enjoy fishing as you did as a child this has to happen at least for a 5 year period and be reviewed after this. Salmon stocks have been dwindling for a number of years due to netting and over fishing IE: GREED. Salmon migration is also a big problem, weirs will have to be updated or removed, Man is responsible for the natural migration of the most famous fish and man is also responsible for the decline in salmon. If all this was to happen it would create many many jobs in the area and bring this declining country back to happier times. STOP THE NETS, MAKE ALL RIVERS CATCH AND RELEASE!!!!!!!

The feedback from the riverbanks has been exhausting because so many people see the damage firsthand but feel powerless to change it. I am spending my evenings documenting the decline in stocks to present to the local authorities. It is slow and often discouraging work but the river cannot sustain this level of greed for much longer.

Disgraceful that there is still licences available for gill netting in Irish rivers. Especially with the amount of fish farmed producing 100s of tonnes of salmon annually for consumption. Protect the wild stocks for future generations, don't loose such a historical Irish species.
If this isn't stopped it'll be to late for our salmon to recover. Every little bit to help preserve them is a step in the right direction. Noes the time to act before its to late......
