The MPC just rejected the rezoning request and the threat to our neighborhood is officially dead. Superior Grill failed to bulldoze our community standards today. We won a major battle but we will stay watchful to ensure they do not try another end run around our residential zoning.

Superior Grill is petitioning the MPC to rezone a portion of our neighborhood into an Urban Corridor, but the fight is not over yet. The rezoning will be discussed in a public hearing, and if you would like to keep the neighborhood zoned for residential - meaning zoned for homes that contribute to our community and our tax base as a city - then please take a moment to sign our petition.

While the stated aim of Superior's owners is to build two parking lots on the spaces where he bought and demolished homes, the reality is this rezoning allows him to build anything from another restaurant to a stage to office spaces there. There is also no enforceable provision to keep him from selling the lots to another developer that may want to build out more businesses, or a parking structure. This sets a terrible precedent for Shreveport: if a business can buy the home next to yours, bulldoze it, and then get it re-zoned to build anything from a parking lot to a liquor store to an apartment building, then only the gated neighborhoods are safe.

Sincerely,

Your Neighbors on Dillingham

The momentum behind this push is real and the people at Superior Grill are starting to feel the heat. They think they can bulldoze our community for their private gain but they underestimated how hard we will fight to protect our homes.

We are already inundated with peak hour and nighttime "customer traffic",using our neighborhood streets,as access to Superior Grill. often these drivers show little regard to residents of Dillingham Ave., or Oak Hill. Impaired drivers, littering, unnecessary noise are problems that will only get worse with more needless parking area. Please Don't allow this to go forward.

We live two doors down from the projected site of the parking lots and strongly opposed more parking lots.

I am strongly opposed to allowing Superior Grill to tear down home(s) in order to build more parking spaces!!! Encourage them to buy the Stephen Miller closed business and build there! Thank u

The restaurant is already beyond capacity when the existing parking lot is full. With that in mind, the only logical reason for the additional parking is likely the restaurant will try to enlarge the existing building sometime in the future.

You shouldn’t be able to apply for rezoning AFTER you tear down residential buildings.

This business has a history of disobedience with the zoning process and a blatant disrespect for the homeowners in this neighborhood
