Starting in Fall of 2022 Penn State's Transportation Services decided to stop enforcing its own rules -- mainly "No student parking 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday". This change in enforcement has created a daily headache for those of us who pay a monthly parking fee.

Has the increased traffic in the Nittany Parking Deck caused you any of the following?:

1) Late to meetings on campus or off campus.

2) Late picking up your child from school or daycare.

3) Increased stress leaving work.

4) Seen or experienced increased levels of impatience/recklessness in the parking deck.

5) Stuck in the parking space for prolonged periods unable to back out due to a steady line of cars trying to exit the deck.

6) New faculty are unable to get parking permits.

When Transportation Services was asked about this change in enforcement they offered the following response:

"Providing access to other users brings in additional revenue to cover the expenses of operating the facility, which helps us minimize permit rate increases to employees"

All we are asking is that PSU Transportation Services address this problem by enforcing their own rules.

If your daily commute in and out of the Nittany Parking Deck would be improved if Penn State Transportation Services enforced their own rules by barring student parking during the hours of 7:30am-4pm, please sign this petition.
