Santa Rosa County is wanting to create a HWY 98 bypass that would pass through HBTS. Currently HWY 399 is a perfect bypass that surrounds HBTS. The proposed primary road option is Leisure St and secondary option is Broadmoor St. The proposed bypass will go through residential properties and mandate some residents to vacate their homes. The bypass is intended to reduce traffic concerns on hwy 98 though the majority of concerns are east of HBTS basically making the bypass useless. What will happen is a massive impact on the wildlife that currently occupy the areas to be cleared, as well as speeding traffic moving through our quiet community as the limit will be increased to 35 MPH.
