IAG failed to swallow our national airline and we stopped their predatory takeover dead in its tracks. Aer Lingus remains ours because we refused to be quiet while they tried to carve up our routes for profit. Stay alert because we proved exactly how powerful we are when we fight …

Protect our national airline from a ruthless and predatory takeover. Irish pilots, cabin crew and ground crew need your help in stopping Aer Lingus from being bought out by IAG, a group seeking to monopolise the European airline industry. The Irish Airline Pilots Association has already spoken out against the takeover and it will, should it go ahead, damage regional airports like Cork, Kerry and Shannon, while also restricting the route network available to Irish passengers.

IAG continues to act like they own our national infrastructure while ignoring the people who actually run these planes. The silence from their corporate office is cowardly and transparent. I am spending every waking hour drafting letters to the regulators to expose their predatory agenda before they gut our regional airports for profit.

February 2, 2015

The massive surge in support proves that we will not let IAG swallow our national airline for their own corporate gain. This momentum shows those vultures exactly how much resistance they face when they try to dismantle our essential infrastructure.

2% of infection is imported that means 98% is within the country.I am out of the country at present .the testing and wearing of masks outside compulsary. It is a shame that Irisg government doesn't do similar and not try to shame people who travel. If they let aerlingus go as the seem it will be a very sad day for the irish people.Shame on this new government.

Me and my Momma, including my aunt who are from Cobh, in Ireland - have travelled on Aer Lingus lodes of times from Cork to either Heathrow or Bristol Airport. Me and my family will feel really upset and so ashamed if Aer Lingus closed down. It will be extremely disappointing. Please to all government members, please do NOT let IAG take over Aer Lingus as well please!!!

This will further destroy the connectivity we have in Ireland, and Cork Airport in particular is extremely vulnerable. Aer Lingus is a national treasure and should be developed and expanded!

Completely agree. As Matt Staunton of Impact Trade Union said today: "We cannot trade away our future."
