Tell Iran: Don't Execute Innocent Kurds
On July 17, Iranian media sources reported that the court of Sanandaj announced the death sentences of two Iranian Kurds: Adnan Hassanpur, a member of the editoral board of the state-suspended weekly journal "Aso," and Abdolvahed (Hiwa) Butimar, a civil society activist. Both men are accused of maintaining relations with external opposition parties and of spying on the state. Execution sentences of these two activists undermine the international human rights treaties that the Islamic Republic of Iran has signed. We call upon all human rights activists around the world to demand the Islamic Republic of Iran to revoke the execution sentences of both Adnan Hassanpur and Abdolvahed (Hiwa) Butimar. Please demonstrate your support for these two innocent men by adding your signature to the petition.
