Stop Ontario government's Generic Drug Reform bill
Minister Debra Matthews,
The few dollars that your Ministery may save with this bill, will be more than off set by the untold collateral damage that it will cause. In your attempt to bring down drug costs here in Ontario, you will put in jeopardy thousands of jobs, as many pharmacies will be forced to close their doors because they will no longer be profitable. This will affect many small communities and many shut-ins, as services they depend on will now have to be cut, eg. no more home delivery, patient consultations, contacting doctors on behalf of patients etc. or, drug stores will just up and close. Not only will the emplyees of these busineses be out of work, they will be collecting employment insurance, this at a time of high unemployment.
This is a lose - lose situation and so we the undersigned ask that you re-negotiate a fair and equitable law that would not put this essential industry at risk.
