Stop FSBPT Discrimination
Many Physical Therapists dreams of coming to the United States were disrupted this summer. On July 12, 2010, the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) took the unprecedented action of barring an entire class of therapists their right to take the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE). The FSBPT without a public hearing barred every therapist that studied in Egypt, India, Pakistan and the Philippines from taking the national competency exam (the NPTE). The global community of therapists and interested parties supports the FSBPT’s goal of protecting the integrity of the NPTE. But we protest the Federation’s discrimination against an entire class of foreign educated therapists. As a State Therapy Board Member, a State Therapy Board Administrator, a Governor and a Legislator we urge you to work to end this discrimination immediately.
