Please support the opening of Saint Lawrence Spirits, formerly known as Fairview Manor.

Fairview Manor located just outside the Town of Clayton towering the St. Lawrence River is a historically registered property that dates back to 1937. Initially built as a summer home for the late industrialist Carl Zimmerman. Fairview Manor was passed on to the Sisters of the Holy Cross as their summer retreat, which is where it received its name "The Nunnery." The property was most recently operated as a restaurant by the Dedek family in the 2000s. Unfortunately, Fairview Manor Restaurant was closed in 2008 and sat vacant for almost seven years. The amazing piece of architecture and a gem of Clayton fell into disrepair and would require extensive labor, a large investment, and a vision to bring it back to its former glory that was Fairview Manor.

Jody and Doreen Garrett purchased the Fairview Manor property in July of 2014 after continually driving by the property and witnessing its demise. The Garrett's ultimate goal for the property was to resurrect a piece of Clayton's history to share with the community. Fairview Manor was a place where the local community built memories whether it was attending religious education, a wedding, or just simply enjoying the view on the terrace. The Garrett's hope is to recreate a space for new memories to be made in the local community in the name of Saint Lawrence Spirits. Saint Lawrence Spirits wishes to operate as a year-round farm-based distillery, tasting room, bar, and eventually restaurant. With one of the best views on the St. Lawrence River, Saint Lawrence Spirits would love to share the atmosphere for the celebration of weddings, special events, or to simply enjoy the terrace sunsets. Saint Lawrence Spirits will attribute to year-round local job growth, local economic development and will support the growing desire for Clayton's Tourism initiative.

Current zoning does not allow the Garrett's to share Fairview Manor/Saint Lawrence Spirits and all it has to offer with the community. We are asking for your help! Please share your support by signing our petition.
