Help Support the extension of the St. Vrain Greenway Trail and outdoor recreation along the St. Vrain by signing this petition! Boulder County, the City of Longmont and the Town of Lyons are applying to Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) for grant funding that will help us build three great projects along the St. Vrain to create more recreational opportunities along the St. Vrain River! Project partners include the St. Vrain and Left Hand Water Conservancy District, Trout Unlimited, the Longmont Community Foundation, the Roger & Roberta Jones Foundation, the Boulder County Parks & Open Space Foundation, Blue Mountain Stone, and S20 Design & Engineering.  Help us in creating the best possible grant application that we can by showing that the citizens of Boulder County want and support outdoor recreation projects. Please sign this petition!

If awarded, these projects will be constructed by 2015:

1) Provide 2.9 miles of new trail of the St. Vrain Greenway trail from Golden Ponds to Pella Crossing.

2) Development of the Braly Environmental Education Center and trail system at Braly Open Space at Hygiene Road and 61st. The site will include an open air classroom, a loop trail, an interpretive trail to the river and fishing!

3) Pavlakis District Park in urban Longmont will become a 58-acre water-based park along the banks of the St. Vrain. The park will include river access, fishing, trail use, picnicking and ADA-accessible parking and facilities (restroom, shade, drinking fountains).

4) Lyons Valley River Park, located on the south bank of the St. Vrain on the east end of Lyons will include enhancements and additions to an existing whitewater park, creation of a nature play area for children, picnic shelters, trails and trailhead, interpretive area, fitness stations, fishing ponds, and an extension of the St. Vrain trail to Highway 36/66.

Please sign! You’re email address is a required field only to verify your signature and will not be shared with GOCO or any 3rd parties. There is no cost or donation needed to sign the petition.
