Dear president Deguchi,

In the wake of the coronavirus crisis that is hurting global economy, there are many parents of APU students who had lost their jobs or are struggling to make a living. A number of students themselves, whom are not financially well-off, had lost their part-time jobs and many more may soon be in the same situation as the crisis worsen in Japan and Oita Prefecture.

As the voice of APU students, we hope that the school can take some initiatives to support students who are struggling financially. Some of the support could be in the form of but not limited to partial tuition reduction, or tuition deferral.

There is no doubt that the official support from APU will help our student body stands strong during this tough time. Olympic 2020 may have been delayed to 2021 but APU 2030 vision will not as long as the school walk hand-in-hand with its students.

Thank you,

I keep reading the stories people are leaving in the comments and it really hits home how many of us are just scraping by right now with part-time work drying up so fast. I am still trying to find the right person at the administration office to actually look at this because they have been pretty quiet so far but I think they are going to have to listen once I get enough people together to make it impossible to ignore the situation.

It is reasonable. Also Waseda and Meiji university all reduced tuition fee or gave some money to students. We are not gonna to use any facility in campus, so we ought to get some of our money back.

My son is currently enrolling at APU and since our business has greatly affected by the pandemic, it would be really hard for us to afford our son tuition, we really hope the university will consider this

This virus has hurt a lot of our incomes. I'm barely getting by to even pay for my rent and food. Please do take this into account. Due to lockdown its becoming next to impossible to bring money as well. Keeping all this in mind, it would be a kind gesture to reduce our tuition.

Due to the outbreak situation, I'm unable to go back to Japan which means I am paying for my apartment that I am not even staying in for many months. It would be great if APU could help us reduce the tuition fee, since the outbreak puts me (and many other people) into an unstable income.

My dad has already retired and through this condition it made his projects are to be postponed, which was his only chance of providing food on our table. Now we can only survive through savings which were planned to be used for future needs.
