Uwharrie Motorsports Park - A PARK FOR ALL OF MOORE COUNTY

Opportunities like the Uwharrie Motorsports Park don’t come around every day. This proposed addition to our community has the potential to inject money into our local economy and create jobs. No one wants to see our beautiful landscape harmed or disrupted. But it’s important to remember that the site chosen for the park is already a designated industrial area. A motorsports park with guaranteed natural buffers is better than an industrial plant that uses toxic chemicals that could leach into our water.

The $100 million investment in the Uwharrie Motorsports Park isn’t just for building a space for residents to come together and enjoy a new activity. That kind of funding often leads to improvements in local infrastructure, better roads, and more services for all of us. Growth can be managed in ways that improve our daily lives rather than complicating them.

Here’s the bigger picture: this park will bring well-paying jobs back to Montgomery and Moore counties – jobs that could help local families and reduce the need to leave our communities for job opportunities. This project represents a chance to create opportunities right here, right now.

Uwharrie Motorsports Park is NOT an exclusive country club. It will offer a wide range of membership options that everyone can take advantage of. It will be a hub of activity, hosting various events throughout the year, from public drive days to charity events. Our public amenities, including dining options, walking trails, and a dog park, will ensure something for everyone.

We look forward to uniting with our Moore County community and beyond to deliver a premier racing and motorsports experience and world-class experiences for all!

Uwharrie Motorsports Park Location

Will the Uwharrie Motorsports Park offer both public and private options?

While there will certainly be high-end vehicles on-site and individuals will have opportunities to purchase memberships, the Uwharrie Motorsports Park is intended to serve high-end car enthusiasts and the community at large through many of our public amenities and community events.

Money Received from Moore County, State and Federal

Not a DIME. In fact, over time, this Park will be a substantial net positive for the county and local municipalities, such as the Towns of Robbins and Carthage.

Noise Control

We are dedicated to ensuring that Uwharrie Motorsports Park does not burden the local community with noise. In collaboration with Driven International, a renowned architecture and engineering design firm specializing in sports, leisure, and motorsports, we commissioned a report that no major sound disruptions have been identified. We remain committed to employing sound control strategies, like natural land buffers, and sound walls. We will strictly enforce and continuously monitor maximum permitted noise levels to ensure compliance.

Environmental Impact

We will comply fully with local, state, and federal regulations to protect wildlife and natural resources. Jordan Timber will maintain our land regarding needed thinning and fire protection. Before AutoPort purchased it, this land was cleared for timber. Because of this, the property does not have significant wildlife present and no endangered species.

Light Control

The Uwharrie Motorsports Park will follow local ordinances in Moore County for all streets, parking lots, and internal lighting. The Park will follow all dark skies requirements set by the Moore County UDO, and all lights will be equipped with 90-degree cut-offs to ensure all light is directed downward. We will also utilize shields to prevent light from spilling onto adjacent properties. Additionally, natural buffers like trees and vegetation will limit light from impacting outside the property.

Employment Opportunities

The Park plans to hire 49 full-time and 96 part-time employees at an average salary of $48,000. Another 50 to 100 part-time staff will be needed throughout the year for various events.

Economic Impact on Moore County

Autoport will invest over $100 million in the Uwharrie Motorsports Park, producing over $17 million in economic and fiscal impact. This means more tax revenue for schools and local fire departments, new customers spending money with local businesses, and a one-time construction economic impact.
