Good Afternoon fellow and former TAMU-CC students and the public!

It has been determined by several current and former students of our prestigious university that it is time for a change.

What is that change you might ask? Well it’s time for the return of our beloved Mascot.... Tarpie the Tarpon!!

In 2003 he was cast away back to the bay for no good reason and Izzy was adopted, and while Izzy N has been a wonderful addition to the TAMUCC family, there was absolutely no reason to abandon our past time as the Tarpon’s of TAMUCC!!

I’m not calling for a rebranding of the University but a reintroduction of our former and beloved mascot Tarpie!

I believe the reintroduction will do many things for this University! Firstly, it will allow us to be represented by one of the coolest, most unique, and wonderful aquatic creatures and mascots in all of Division 1 sports! Secondly the Tarpon has historically been a huge part of Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend, not too far away in one of Corpus Christi’s neighboring cities of Port Aransas, TX, you can find the Tarpon Inn. Which used to be a frequent stop for former president Theodore Roosevelt! This beautiful creature used to be a major part of the revenue and uniqueness of Corpus Christi and you can still find these beautiful fish swimming around the Jetties of Packery Channel and the Port Aransas Jetties, and if you make a quick visit to the Texas State Aquarium they have several tanks that house these beautiful fish

So I’m calling out to President Quintanilla and Athletic Director Palumbo, to bring back our beloved mascot and Tarpie the Tarpon and continue to make TAMUCC one of the most unique and awesome Universities in the great state of Texas and the United States!

Izzy is getting lonely and needs his best friend Tarpie to return!
