The DMV of New Jersey should update their database and offer more online services.
The DMV of New Jersey should update their databases and services in order to speed up the process of driver's license renewals and help customers save time instead of waiting hours in line by offering driving license renewal services online. The DMV requires customers to present 6 points of identification to protect us all and prevent identity theft; however, there are some inconveniences of these requirements. During the process of driver's license renewal, a customer should not have to present 6 points of ID since their information should be saved in the system by simply registering the customer's driver's license number and social security number into the system. In today's computer age every information the DMV obtains shall be computerized. For example, last year when I attempted to renew my driver's license I was refused a new license as a result of not having a valid ID since I didn't have one because my old driver's license was pierced and I waited hours in line. Nonetheless, months later I was invited by the DMV to skip the trip to renew my license by mail and I proceeded to do so. That was convenient for me because I didn't have to present 6 points of ID due to new security measures. Those security measures should be used at the DMV in order to speed up the process. Also the DMV should offer online services for license renewal because people do not always have time to visit the DMV as a result of working during the day time and not able to go at their convenience. Online services are always convenient and accesable at anytime which helps millions of customers save time and avoid the line at the agency. So I am petitioning to make a change for the DMV of New Jersey to provide faster and convenient services. I would like people to join me for this petition by simply signing it.
