Help! As some of you may know i have applied for the premises licence to reopen The Greyhound in Hugh Street SW1. I have received a huge amount of negativity and objections from local residents who are mainly involved or influenced by the Residents Association of Cambridge, Hugh and Alderney Street, and so my application has been primarily refused. My intentions as some people may have heard are to open the pub as a traditional locals pub with a restaurant downstairs. The main objection from the residents is that they are convinced that it will increase crime and disorder, public nuisance and jeopardise public safety and will in fact not be a "locals" pub, but yet another "noisy, sports-bar-orientated tourist trap" in the victoria area. Please add you name if you support my ideas, and would welcome a new pub that doesnt alienate the local clientelle like the others around, so i may present this petition at our sub-committee hearing on 27 October 2011.
