The Miami Dolphin fan base is a diverse group. Its members run the gamut from "old-timers" who witnessed the perfect season of 1972 to fans who came aboard during the high flying days of the Dan Marino-led offense to youngsters who have cut their teeth in the last decade. But no matter which generation they represent, all agree the 2008 season was one of the most joyful surprises imaginable. After a frustrating 1-15 campaign, a new regime took the helm in South Florida - a regime that assembled a cast of lead and supporting characters, all of whom bought into the program with an enthusiasm that was consistent among rookies and veterans alike. That enthusiasm combined with a fierce work ethic to produce a season met with a crescendo of belief among the faithful. Even though the season ended with an early playoff exit, we as fans were left with a long list of highlights and a pride unlike anything we have felt in recent memory. For that reason, the nearly 2,000-strong membership of ThePhins.com wishes to express thanks to the ownership, administration, coaching staff and players of the Miami Dolphins for their hard work and dedication.
