The company has confirmed that a new store will be opening in the Grand Rapids area. Seeing this goal become a reality is a profound reminder of what happens when a community clearly articulates its needs. I look forward to seeing all of you in the aisles when the doors …
There are 5 Trader Joe\'s locations in the state of Michigan, but all are on the eastern side of the state and a 3+ hour drive for the majority of Michiganders--too far to transport frozen goods (and an expensive trip with recent high gas prices). We, the undersigned, would happily be regular TJ\'s shoppers, were there at least one location in our neck of the woods.
Grand Rapids is the second largest city in Michigan and central to a rapidly growing region in need of grocers offering a wider array of specialty foods and at reasonable prices. Muskegon and Holland would also be prime locations for TJ\'s stores.
If you build it, we will shop!
The feedback I receive confirms that many people in this region feel overlooked by current grocery options. I am currently organizing the data regarding our population density to better illustrate the viability of a store in West Michigan for the corporate decision makers.

The reach of this effort has moved well beyond a few local conversations and now represents a genuine regional movement. It is clear that many people across West Michigan feel the same need for more accessible grocery options. This momentum provides a strong foundation as we look toward our next steps in encouraging a conversation with the company.
